Kamala KaruppiahCo - President, Co-FounderMy name is Kamala Karuppiah and I’ll be serving as the co-president for the East Brunswick Public Library Youth Red Cross Council. We work very hard to maintain a successful council and we embrace the mission of the American Red Cross especially in our community. Serving as a volunteer in the Red Cross is an honor as we are not only spreading awareness of its mission, but we help save lives. I am involved in various advocacy programs. I would love to someday pursue a career in law or politics and especially give a voice to issues pertaining to women's health and public health.

Liesha YenduriCo - President, Co-FounderMy name is Liesha Yenduri and I'm a rising junior at Woodbridge Academy and I will be your co-president at EB Youth Red Cross. Our club is dedicated to public volunteer services that promote and bring awareness to the American Red Cross mission. I first joined Red Cross to give back to my community and I have loved it ever since. Some of my hobbies are playing basketball and dancing.

I joined the Red Cross with the intent to help others. This club strives to prepare and shelter from any disaster. Being the Vice President of this club is a huge honor.

I'm a rising junior at the Woodbridge Academy and my passion for health and public service is what motivated me to become a part of the Red Cross mission. Outside of the Red Cross, some of my hobbies include cooking, reading, listening to music, and painting.

Emma TongSecretary, Co-FounderHi, my name is Emma Tong, and I'm the secretary of the EB Youth Red Cross Council! I'm currently a junior attending East Brunswick High School. I've been a member of this club ever since its first interest meeting and am excited to help it grow and flourish! This club has given me a great opportunity to learn more about the Red Cross and give back to the community. I'm looking forward to having more members and holding even more events!

Sofia SepulvedaCommittee Lead, Co-FounderSofia is a Junior at East Brunswick High School. Her interest in the Red Cross started with a small research project in elementary school, when she visited her local Red Cross building in Vina del Mar, Chile, to learn more about the organization. She moved to the United States in 2015. As a Freshman, she helped found her town’s first Red Cross Club, where she helped to organize events to familiarize children with basic First Aid. She officially became her club’s Committee Lead in her Sophomore year and was selected as an Officer-In-Training for the state-wide Red Cross Club, the New Jersey Club Consortium. She was chosen as the all-state Club Relations Committee Lead for the New Jersey Youth Regional Council for the 2020-2021 school year.
In her free time, Sofia likes to read and volunteer at her library’s Teen Action Group. As a Girl Scout Senior, she is working towards earning her Gold Award. Sofia is also a wrestler for her school’s varsity team and speaks fluent English, Spanish and intermediate German. She is interested in pursuing a career in the medical field and enjoys interacting with people from different cultural backgrounds. |

I have joined this year and with the intent of earning hours and being part of a club which did share similar values to mine. As the year went by, I have realized the importance of the Red Cross and was able to learn so much from the exec board. I wanted to be part of the exec board and take part in the decision-making process as well as a representative for this club!
